Admissions In French Education
Admissions to LFT starts off with a personal tour of our school. During school hours you get a real chance to see what life at LFT is like and ask all the questions you have. We pride ourselves on being an accessible school for our parents and this begins right from the start.
Every year, over 500 students from early Pre-K to Grade 12 are accepted at LFT. Placement tests are taken in February. Once the application form has been received a date for the test will be set. The payment of $100 (non-refundable administration fee) by cheque payable to the “Lycée Français Toronto” is due to take any placement test. Results will then be sent by mail by the end of March. Students coming from a school following the French curriculum, i.e. set by the French Ministry of Education, can be registered at the LFT upon submission of their report cards (photocopies) accounting for the past two years and after official acceptance into the following Grade. The official acceptance involves the consultation of the Board of Teachers or special recommendations from the student’s former school’s Board. Students coming from a school following other curricula, i.e. not set by the French Ministry of Education, can apply to the LFT upon submission of their school report cards (photocopies) for the past two years along with their application form.
