C’est donc avec un optimisme résolu et des perspectives enthousiasmantes que toute l’équipe du LFT attend les élèves et les familles pour cette rentrée 2010-2011, le mardi 7 septembre à 8h45.

After the success of our students at the Baccalauréat and at the Brevet des Collèges, the time has now come to turn the page on this past school year.
The coming school year will no doubt reflect the same LFT spirit: we are already planning the celebration of two international weeks: Japan and Spain, and are looking forward to participate in the 2011 Olympic Games of North American Lycées that will be held at the Lycée Français in New York.
The Lycée will continue to grow with the creation of 5 new classes. 15 new teachers and educators will be joining our team.
An important innovation will be introduced to our Grade 10 curriculum: The American Option of the French Baccalaureat.
English exams both written and oral, will finally match the level of excellence achieved by students who are enrolled in the advanced English language and literature course. At the Baccalaureat, students will have the opportunity to answer their written and oral History and Geography exam in English.
I am confident that this adequacy between the level of English achieved by the majority of our students and the proposed certification will strengthen the coherence of the LFT curriculum. Besides, most of our schools in the United States are already offering, with growing success, the American Option of the French Baccalaureat.

It is with great optimism and enthusiasm that on Tuesday, September 7, at 8:45 am, all the LFT team will be welcoming the students and their families to this 2010/2011 school year.

I am pleased to share with you our students’ results at the 2010 baccalaureat and Brevet exams.

Our seventeen Grade 12 students passed with success the Baccalaureat exam. 14 students were on the honour roll:

2 passed with Highest honours
4 passed with High honours
8 passed with Honours.

All our Grade 9 students successfully passed the Brevet exam and were on the honour roll:

6 passed with Highest honours
5 passed with High honours
6 passed with Honours.

Lundi 14 juin 2010, M. Dollié a présenté la société Ferrero aux élèves de la classe de seconde.
M. Dollié a bien mis en évidence les valeurs sur lesquelles repose le succès de cette saga familiale qui a débuté dans le Piemont juste après la seconde guerre mondiale. Les produits et les hommes sont au cœur de toutes les décisions, ces dernières basées sur une logique à long terme.
Ferrero ce n’est pas seulement le Nutella, un des ses produits phare, mais une multitude de produits tous plus durs à imiter les uns que les autres sortis du prolixe centre de recherches d’Alba où travaillent 250 à 300 personnes.
M. Dollié a exposé les grandes lignes de la stratégie de Ferrero à travers sa riche histoire et notoriété et a exposé avec beaucoup de précisions la façon avec laquelle certains spécialités étaient fabriquées dans l’usine de Burlington.
Une présentation au final, très enrichissante tant pour les futurs élèves de la série économique et sociale que pour ceux de la série scientifique.

On Monday June 14, 2010, Mr. Dollie presented Ferrero Company to our Grade 10 students.
Mr. Dollié highlighted the values underlying the success of this family saga that began in the Piemont just after the Second World War. Products and men are at the heart of decisions taken on the basis of a long-term logic.
Ferrero is not only Nutella, one of its flagship products, but a multitude of other products all very hard to imitate, created in their Alba Research Centre that employs between 250 and 300 people.
Mr. Dollié has outlined Ferrero’s strategy throughout its rich history and reputation and has set out with great detail the manner with which some specialty products are manufactured in their Burlington factory.
A very interesting presentation for our future students of the Economics and Scientific groups.

Presentation of the new Grade-10 class and preparation of the American option of the French Baccalaureat

The end of year concert for Grade 6 to Grade 11 students took place on Wednesday, May 26. Group choreographies and individual and collective performances by students who gave their best, were presented to a conquered audience.

Les élèves de la petite section de maternelle au CM2 ont sauté à la corde pendant 20 mn dans la cour de récréation dans le cadre du programme “Sautons en coeur” créé par la Fondation des Maladies du Coeur. Ils ont adoré sauter sous un soleil magnifique !

Students from PK to Grade 5 jumped rope for 20 minutes in the LfT school yard as they were participating in the ‘Jump Rope for Heart’ programme organized by the Heart Disease Foundation. They loved making great jumps under a beautiful sun !
